Assignment 12A: Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 1

Segment: College students that use earbuds for their laptop.

Findings of Research:
What I found from the people I interviewed is that their need to want to not have their earbud tangled is most salient when they are in a rush (ex: someone is calling them in public), and they need to untangle their earbuds to use them properly. The need is also apparent when they have a certain amount of time to study, and every second counts. Wasting time trying to untangle their earbuds is annoying. Typically, interviewers explained that they just complain about tangled earbuds to whomever is close by, usually friends or a roommate. One interviewer got so fed up with the issue that he went to Amazon to try and find a solution to this problem. They typed in "untangle earbuds"/

Draw Conclusions:
This segment is looking for a simple solution to avoid frustration. Whenever this segment is in a rush or out in public and urgently needs earbuds, they tend to wish they would untangle earbuds quicker.  They typically search online (i.e. Amazon) for possible solutions to this problem.

  1. Perla, I think that is a good idea and is an issue many people have. The only concern I have is the popularity of air pods. Many people already own these new products and many other people want them. I would look into the trends of air pods to see where the market is going and if the need for a device to untangle earbuds is going to be a need in the future.
